Sitemorse partners with Cognesia and launches new Analytics Module

Sitemorse today announced the launch of a new Sitemorse module to check for the presence and correct installation of web analytics page tags.

The Sitemorse Analytics Module is the result of a partnership with Cognesia and will initially be made available to all Cognesia Explore clients in advance of full production release later this year. As part of the launch, Cognesia will be supporting Sitemorse on stand W106 at Internet World in Earls Court between the 29th April and 1st May.

Most web analytics solutions rely on the presence of a small piece of code, known as a page tag, for the collection of web site traffic and visitor information. Clients are given a page tag by their vendor and insert this into every page on their site. If it is missing or incorrectly installed, the data collected by their web analytics vendor will be incomplete and the client will be unable to rely on the accuracy of the reports that are provided.

The Sitemorse Analytics Module will check for the presence and correct installation of the page tag. This new service will automatically identify pages with missing tags and check that any tag that it finds is correctly formed. The Sitemorse Analytics module provides a report showing the status of every page with links to enable a webmaster to quickly access and correct any pages that require action.

Commenting on the launch, Mark Wilding, Director at Cognesia said: “We pride ourselves on having one of the easiest tags to install. However, it’s always possible to get it wrong and when this happens it can take time to fix. In particular it can be very difficult to identify pages with missing tags since we won’t see any data from these pages. With significant budgetary decisions being based on the information we provide, 100% accuracy is essential. The Sitemorse Analytics module will save both ourselves and our clients a considerable amount of time and effort.”

The new service will be made available to new Cognesia clients as a standard part of a Cognesia Explore implementation. It will also be made available to existing Cognesia clients who would like the piece of mind of an automated tag check service.
